The Dhooge family company has been specializing in
shellfish farming since 1906. They are located in the village of Yerseke, in the beautiful Dutch province of Zeeland. Today, the fourth generation stands at the helm!
They grow different types of oysters using different
techniques. Every day, their ships sail to bring in the harvest and to protect the oysters from their natural enemies. They do this with love for our products and nature!

The Oysters
The cultivation areas are located in the Southwest of the Netherlands: in the Eastern Scheldt, Lake Grevelingen, Veerse Meer and Waterdunen (near Breskens). Each area has its individual characteristics that they need to take into account.
De Oesterij invests a lot of time and energy in innovation of our farming techniques and cultivation areas, so that they are able to offer a wide range of oysters year-round.
Their passion for cultivating oysters is reflected in their brands, including ‘Oesterij Special’ and ‘Dutch Imperial’, and in the care they devote to every aspect of cultivation! Quality and care are highly important at the family company!
